Recent changes - SS Freestyle regrets to announce that due to changes in trampoline industry regulations it is in the market to find a new Vernon location for its fall 2020 trampoline programs (next year) and beyond. 2000-3000 square ft of space with inside roof height of 20-30 ft is required to operate under new regulations. SS Freestyle thanks Maven Lane for its amazing support of the SS Freestyle programs over the last 6 years. In that time over a 1000 kids have had an opportunity to participate and learn skills in a safe and fun activity.
Possible suitable space could be in a warehouse, gymnasium, large tall shop, barn or quonset. To meet existing needs the space will be needed for 3 months - September 1 to November 30 annually. If anyone in the community has a possible option please contact SS Freestyle Club via firstname.lastname@example.org or txt 250-550-5322.
Background: Since the late 1990's Silver Star Freestyle has trained its freestyle ski and board athletes using trampolines. In the mid-2000's programs operated in Greater Vernon Recreation gym space. Programs grew and the SS Freestyle Club sought out new space eventually landing at Maven Lane Daycare center and the Stein Barn on the IPE grounds in Armstrong. With over 150 participants each fall for three month period the program has become a staple in the community. As mentioned above recent changes have forced SS Freestyle to look for new space in the Vernon City limits. The trampoline training environment is essential training for the safety and success of freestyle athletes. Some of whom have become Olympians, National Team members and X Games champions.
Economy: SS Freestyle employs over 30 part-time coaches annually; over $60, 000 in specialized air training equipment assets, and contributes over $100, 000 annually to the local economy through running youth programs, coach development courses and events.
Future: SS Freestyle is on the radar and is positioned well in the official recreation plan. Potential partnerships exist with in the action sport community. There is business acumen and local support to develop a facility with local government and/or the private sector. These programs don't need to operate year around but with in the community we have the skilled coaches, the specialized equipment and the participant base to service multiple user groups, athletes and enthusiasts to operate year around. Although it is a niche market Greater Vernon is a renowned for being hot bed for action sport and freestyle athletes.
Over 1000 youth have bounced in this space. A new space with high ceilings is required to continue.
