SS Freestyle and SD 22 have a partnership to enhance competitive freestyle ski and snowboard athlete training while balancing their high school curriculum. Local Snowsports Academy program experts and resources are shared with Alpine, Nordic and Freestyle. This program is a good fit for SD 22 students who are competitive provincial level for Big Mountain, Freestyle or Snowboarding.

Academy Freestyle Activities
Academy fees Approximately $1095- These fees are in draft form. We are still waiting for confirmation of facilities, practitioners and covid protocols going into this fall. Budget for about a $1095 for in school activities (Athletic Foundations, S&C Crossfit, Yoga, Treeline)
Winter Fees Approximately $2000 for Full Winter program on snow- Includes 3 days coach training on *Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays (some exceptions) and camp days. Winter fees pay for coaching and coach travel expenses at select competitions. These fees do not include athlete ski passes, equipment and competition travel expenses or licenses.
*On snow training - Thursday training will start early December and go through the winter. The technical plan will be a combination of freeski, big mtn., big air and park for all those skiing on Thursdays. On snow training fees include Thursdays. Snowsports Academy ski athletes must be members of the SS Freestyle Development Team (head coach - Svin) or SS Freestyle Comp Team (head Coach - Hayden Person). There no snowboard athletes in the snowsports academy for 2021/22.Covid-19 practices - It is strongly recommended that all participants are DOUBLE VACCINATED Athletes must follow all regional and provincial guidelines. To operate this program the local Covid Safety guidelines must be approved by the Freestyle BC.
Membership and License - All participants must have a current Freestyle Canada membership and license.
