Welcome to the Can Freestyle Fundamentalz program. Previously known as Jumps and Bumps this widely successful program provides a SAFE, FUN, LEARNING environment on snow for young skiers. The skill range is from skiers who can load a chairlift unassisted AND ski parallel on a green run up to advanced parallel skiers. These are half day sessions and run for 11 weeks with a fun competition at the end:
All J&B's athletes will be grouped based on both skill level and which friends they would like to ski with. So get the gang together an lets go have some FUN on SKIS. Silver Star Freestyle Club also recommends that participants play many sports like (but not limited to) soccer, martial arts, gymnastics, cycling and especially trampoline. Silver Star Freestyle offers FUNdamentals trampoline program each fall from September to November as well.
The skills have been divided into Green/Blue/Black levels, which are outlined in FUNdamentalz Report Card.
All SS Freestyle Ski programs will finish with our annual Hot Doggin' Freestyle Event.
What is included? Each participant will receive a Silver Star Club Jersey to advertise our valued sponsors. The program includes coaching by a trained Club or Fundamentalz Freestyle Ski Coach.
What does a Fundamentalz skier need to have? Skier MUST have their own ski pass, skis, poles, ski boots, helmet, goggles, gloves and be dressed for the weather conditions.
Do you ever cancel sessions? We try our best to run classes every week as scheduled. In the event the temperature is -20 (or colder) with windchill we may cancel a session. In these cases the SS Freestyle will strive to make up missed sessions later in the season. This may not be possible in all cases. In the case of an "extra-ordinary" circumstance classes may be cancelled as well.
What if we are late? Coaches meet their groups at 8:45 AM or 12:45 behind the group sales building (tree house). If you are late and the groups have left the village you can check in at the brown bag lunch room where an SS Freestyle club representative will be on hand. Usually a coach is available there 15 minutes after the program starts to help your child join their group. You can also txt 250-550-5322 if you have connection issues.
Feel free to email SS Freestyle Program Director, Wade Garrod, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions regarding this program.
